// live-synthesized ambience, boots silent

Ambient Mixer Room

Five noise generators, built entirely in this tab out of oscillators and filtered static — rain, wind, a low drone, crackle, distant thunder. No audio files, nothing downloaded, nothing that leaves your browser. Blend them to taste and leave it running while you do something that matters. It won't help. That's not really what ambient noise is for.

Silent

Nothing plays until you press this. Press it again — or switch tabs, or leave — and every sound stops for real: oscillators killed, buffers disconnected, audio context closed. Not muted. Stopped.

Nothing selected yet.

55%

Filtered noise, steady and close — a highpass/lowpass pair with a slow shimmer on top.

35%

Filtered noise again, but a bandpass sweeping slowly back and forth — that's the gusting.

30%

Two low oscillators, a fifth apart, breathing very slowly. No source, just math.

25%

Short random bursts of high, filtered noise. Off by default — it's a lot.

20%

A slow low rumble, rare and unpredictable — every 25 to 75 seconds, roughly, if it's on.

One localStorage key (sandbag.ambientmixer.v1) remembers which layers you had on and how loud, so your blend is waiting next time. It never remembers to keep playing — sound always needs a fresh press, on every visit, and it stops the instant you switch tabs. Nothing is sent anywhere, ever.
