about the sandbag
a bag of rooms for when "i got time today."
The Sandbag is a growing grab-bag of self-contained browser rooms: toys, games, puzzles, generators, absurd long reads, and the occasional genuinely useful tool. There is no unifying theme. That's the theme.
how it works
- Browse the rooms by mood ("make me laugh", "let me chill", "wtf me") or by how much time you're willing to lose.
- Or don't browse. Hit the random door and let the bag decide. Sometimes it's gold. Sometimes it's a button that does nothing. That's the deal.
- Every room is a single page that works on its own — quick ones take 30 seconds, the long reads and puzzles will happily eat your afternoon.
the meter in the corner
That little clock is counting how long you've been here, and the longer you stay, the mouthier it gets about it. It also runs the Trophy Case — an escalating ladder of extremely official honors (participation ribbon through honorary doctorate) awarded for the same behavior the clock is roasting you for. Both are stored in your browser's local storage, on your device. Wear them proudly. Or clear them. We'd know. (We wouldn't.)
the rules of the bag
- No feed. No accounts. No infinite scroll pretending to be your friend.
- New rooms get thrown in whenever. No schedule. No roadmap. No reason.
- Some rooms are 5-second bits. Some are long reads that accidentally teach you something. Attention spans of every length are welcome here.
- Advertising may appear to keep the lights on. The rooms themselves stay free.
Need to actually get something done? Fine: Online Dev Tools has real utilities (JSON, JWT, hashes, network converters), and ErrorLookup triages HTTP and Cloudflare errors. Come back when you're done. The bag will wait.
